DES MOINES, Iowa – The Illinois College track & field team set two new school records on Saturday at the Drake Relays. Both the Blueboys and the Lady Blues set records in the 4 x 200 Meter Relay, which include a top-five finish for the IC men.
In the women's 4 x 200,
Joselynn Allen,
Bailey Leitschuh,
Olivia Molette and
Andrea Hyde took more than five seconds off the previous Illinois College record, crossing the line in 1:43.67. The Lady Blues finished 10th overall and had the third-best Division III time in the race.
The men bested their previous school record in the 4 x 200 as well, taking down the time they set last year at the Drake Relays.
Nifesimi Williams,
Brett Peifer,
Chris Moore and
Greg Cross ran a 1:27.22, ending in fifth place overall and as the second-best Division III team in the event.
The Blueboys also had advanced to the final of 4 x 100 Meter Relay, but unfortunately were disqualified from the race after running a time that would have set a new school record.
Illinois College returns to action on May 5 with the Fighting Scot Invite at 11 a.m.
