MONMOUTH, Ill.
– The Illinois College track & field team sent a select group of participants to the Monmouth Midweek Meet on Tuesday evening. The unscored meet came together as a way to make up for the cancelled Lee Calhoun Invitational from earlier this month and featured student-athletes from IC, Monmouth, Knox and Illinois Wesleyan.

There were four event victories on Tuesday, all of which came from the Blueboys. Greg Cross was the winner of the 100 Meter Dash in 10.94 seconds. Brett Peifer took home the 200 Meter Dash title in 21.94 seconds. The 4 x 100 Meter Relay team of Nife Williams, Peifer, Chris Moore and Cross that set a school record just four days ago nearly had another one, but ended with a winning time of 41.70 seconds, one-tenth of a second behind their time from Friday. The other win for IC came from Levon Hendricks in the triple jump thanks to an effort of 43-5.25 (13.24 meters).

Elsewhere on the track for the Blueboys, Williams was close behind Cross' winning time in the 100 Meter Dash, taking fourth in 11.10 seconds. Moore was third behind Peifer in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 21.94 seconds. Jaxon Rieke raced to a fourth-place finish in the 400 Meter Dash in a time of 51.82 seconds. Nick Mucciante took third in the 100 Meter Hurdles in 16.05 seconds.

On the track for the Lady Blues, Bailey Leitschuh ended in fifth place in the 100 Meter Dash in 12.80 seconds. Joselynn Allen took third in the 200 Meter Dash in 26.66 seconds. Emily Woods was third in the 400 Meter Dash in 1:06.87.

In field events, Leitschuh pulled double-duty by finishing fourth in the long jump at 16-7 (5.05 meters). Jenna Kennedy had a nice evening of work, taking third in the discus with a throw of 124-3 (37.88 meters) that ranks as the fifth-best all-time at IC. She was also fourth in the hammer throw at 138-6 (42.22 meters).

Anthony Flores matched Kennedy's finishes, taking third in the men's discus at 134-0 (40.84 meters) and fourth in the hammer at 154-11 (47.23 meters). Austin Spriggs ended in third place in the javelin throw at 111-3 (33.91 meters).

Illinois College will split up its teams this weekend, with certain relays and individuals competing at the Drake Relays on April 27 and 28. The remaining members of the team will be at home for the True Blue Twilight, which starts at 3 p.m. on April 27.
