Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
GALESBURG, Ill. - After managing just three hits in a 5-3 setback against Lawrence on Saturday, the Illinois College baseball team rebounded with 14, to tie for second most on the season, in an 11-5 victory over Ripon College.

The Blueboys will conclude the Midwest Conference Crossover on Sunday with a 10 a.m. matchup against Beloit College at Galesburg High School.

Game One: Lawrence 5, Illinois College 3
Despite drawing a season-high 13 walks, the Blueboys struggled to use the opportunities to score. The team held a 1-0 edge after Joe Paparelli scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first inning, but stranded 11 runners on base through the eighth inning while in search for its next score.

Lawrence plated three runs in the fourth inning on an error and RBI groundout, and extended its lead to 5-1 with RBI singles in the sixth and seventh frames against Dentler Loschen. Loschen pitched a complete game, but gave up three earned runs and took the loss to fall to 2-1.

In similar fashion to the game's start, Paparelli drew a leadoff walk to help spark IC's comeback in the ninth inning. A pair of two-out, bases-loaded walks from Brennan Bergstralh and Tim Sommerfeld brought home two runs, but the inning concluded on a strikeout to end the game.

Game Two: Illinois College 11, Rippon College 5
Kicking off game two with back-to-back, three-run innings, the Blueboys led the entire ballgame. Austin Newton (4-1) picked up the win and Ethan Crain was credited with the save while Austin Gusewelle and Bailey Reed each recorded three hits.

Bailey Reed, Mason Durdel and Grant Argyilan each were credited with RBIs in the first inning. Brendan Stanfield and B. Reed drove in runs in the second inning to make it 6-0.

Ripon drew as close as 7-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning, but a four-run seventh inning from the Blueboys put the game away.

In addition to the three-hit games from Gusewelle and Reed, the Blueboys had two-hit days from Sommerfeld, Stanfield and Durdel. Stanfield also drew two walks and drove in a pair.
