Esports Picks Up Big Win over Concordia (Wisconsin)

2/16/2018 9:25:00 PM

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Week 5 of Riot's Collegiate League of Legends series was played against Concordia University (Wisconsin). Game 1 started fast for Illinois College bot laner James "IC Samso" Xu, picking up six kills in 10 minutes. Illinois College extended its lead in the bot lane by roaming to other lanes to pick up free gold in the form of towers. This enabled the rest of the team to take any objective they wanted on the map due to having a 10,000 gold lead. Once they secured Baron Nashor, and all the additional buffs that it gives you, Illinois College pushed mid and ended the game in 24 minutes with a final kill score of 29-5.

Game 2 started a little bit slower than Game 1, but most of the action was around the mid lane instead of the bot lane. Zach "IC Stones" Heren picked up five kills in 10 minutes playing Syndra. He was then able to roam with jungler Dylan "IC Tilt" Cawthon to other lanes and pick up tower gold. Once the lead was extended, they were able to pick up an early Baron Nashor and push mid to end the game at 27 minutes with a final kill score of 19-5.

With the win, Illinois College improves to 2-3 on the year.
