JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – As 2018 comes to an end, the Illinois College athletic department has its slowest week of the year with just one single game over the next few days. That game, however, will be a big one as the women's basketball team hosts crosstown rival MacMurray College in Sherman Gymnasium on Dec. 30 at 2 p.m.
All money collected from admission fees and any additional donations from the day will be given to Jacksonville's New Directions Heating and Cooling Center.

The Lady Blues have had 14 days to marinate since falling on the road to Grinnell College, 62-56. IC hopes to shake off any residual rust and play well after the long lay-off while seeking its sixth straight win in the series with MacMurray.
Four players have led Illinois College in scoring this season and all four of those players enter the final non-conference game of the season this weekend averaging at least nine points per game.
Brielle Greenleaf paces the offense at 14.0 points per game, with
Carly Cameron chipping in 11.0 points and a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game.
Sydney Lett leads the Lady Blues in assists and averages 9.8 points per game and
Grace Yaunches is the top free-throw shooter for IC while scoring at a 9.0 points per game clip. In last year's 86-63 season-opening victory over the Highlanders, Greenleaf led all scorers with 21 points while
Madi Peyton had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Lett and Yaunches each added 11 points apiece.
MacMurray has struggled to a 1-11 start to the season with its lone win of the season coming in its season opener back on Nov. 13 against Central Christian College of the Bible, 84-50. Eleven straight losses have followed for the Highlanders with turnovers being one main culprit. MacMurray committed an incredible 54 turnovers in a 99-45 loss to Webster University on Dec. 5 and are averaging 29.8 per game for the season. Chassidy Hays is the leading scorer and rebounder for the Highlanders, averaging a double-double with 16.3 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Shelby Fink also averages double-figures, scoring 12.5 points per game.
