Lady Blues Celebrate Senior Day with 82-61 Win Over Monmouth in Season Finale

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- Illinois College raced out to a commanding first-quarter lead and never looked back, rolling to an 82-61 victory over Monmouth College on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Sherman Gymnasium.

The win marked the final game of the 2025-26 season for the Lady Blues, who honored seniors Amya Mayes and Jayln Patterson prior to tip-off. Illinois College closes the year at 12-13 overall and 8-8 in Midwest Conference play, while Monmouth finishes 8-17 and 4-12 in the MWC.

The Lady Blues set the tone early, erupting for 26 points in the opening quarter while holding the Fighting Scots to just seven. IC shot nearly 53 percent from the field in the period and buried three three-pointers to take a 26-7 advantage after one.

Monmouth responded in the second quarter, trimming the margin by outscoring IC 22-13, but the Lady Blues still carried a 39-29 lead into halftime.

Illinois College regained full control in the third, using a 23-16 edge in the frame and a 9-of-11 effort at the free throw line to extend the lead to 62-45 heading into the fourth. The Lady Blues continued to control the tempo down the stretch, knocking down three more three-pointers in the final period to secure the 21-point victory.

Kallie Oestreicher led the way with 16 points and four steals. Patterson capped off her senior day with a double-double, totaling 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Cora DeSutter added 11 points off the bench, while Kaity Robinson chipped in eight and Anaya Patterson contributed seven as IC's bench scored 38 points.

Illinois College forced 26 Monmouth turnovers and converted them into 30 points, finishing the afternoon with 11 three-pointers in a strong all-around performance to close the season.

Jayln Patterson capped off her career ranked 10th in program history with 1,126 points, third all-time with 87 blocks, and eighth all-time with 612 rebounds.
