Lady Blues Drop Two Matches on First Day of Rose-Hulman Tournament

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Illinois College volleyball team couldn't keep up its hot play from last weekend's Illinois College Tournament, falling in a pair of 3-0 decisions on Friday to William Woods University and North Central College at the Rose-Hulman Invitational. The Lady Blues fall to 3-3 on the season.

The Lady Blues conclude the Rose-Hulman Invitational tomorrow, taking on Anderson University in their early match before facing the hosts to end the day.

William Woods 3, Illinois College 0
(9-25, 18-25, 10-25)

Illinois College was overwhelmed by William Woods in the first match of the day on Friday, falling in three quick sets and hitting -.055 for the match. The Lady Blues tallied only 15 kills in the match and committed 21 errors. 

Ali Pankey led Illinois College with five kills. Mikayla Greenwood had four and Maddie Ramsey added three. Elizabeth Ganley had assists on all 15 kills and tacked on nine digs. Madie Budd led IC with 13 digs while Cheyanne Jockisch had 11.

North Central 3, Illinois College 0
(23-25, 22-25, 22-25)

Each set in the nightcap went down to the wire, but North Central pulled out all three to get the sweep, improving to 4-0 on the season. 

Pankey and Ramsey had nine kills each to pace the Illinois College attack. Ganley added her fifth double-double of the season with 20 assists and 12 digs. Jockisch matched her total from the first match with 11 digs.
