By: A 19-0 run in the first quarter from Illinois College set the tone for the rest of the game as the Lady Blues moved to 2-0 in the Midwest Conference.

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's basketball team overwhelmed Lawrence University with talent and depth on Friday night in a 96-42 thrashing at Sherman Gymnasium.
Brielle Greenleaf scored a game-high 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the floor and
Carly Cameron scored 18 of her career-high 19 points in the first half as the Lady Blues exploded out to a 51-20 halftime lead. Illinois College snaps its two-game losing streak and moves to 3-2 (2-0 Midwest Conference) on the season while Lawrence dips to 2-1 (0-1 MWC).
The Vikings gave the Lady Blues everything they could handle for two minutes, but unfortunately for the visitors there were still 38 minutes left to play. Down 4-2, Greenleaf started a 19-0 run by scoring the first seven points of the run by herself. Cameron then stole the ball and went coast-to-coast for a layup.
Jaicie Halleman capped the run with a high-arching three-pointer to make it 21-4. Cameron supplied the last five points of the quarter as well, giving IC a 32-7 lead after 10 minutes of action.
Cameron and Greenleaf continued to have their way in the second quarter, combining for the first seven points to take a 41-8 lead with less than seven minutes to go until halftime.
Shannen Quehl entered the game with less than three minutes in the first half for her first action of the season and scored on her first touch of the basketball. Moments later,
Alyssa Garde scored on a layup as IC's lead peaked at 51-15 in the first half. Lawrence scored the five points in the final 20 seconds to make it 51-20 at the intermission.
The lead continued to swell in the second half and reached 40 points for the first time on a
Sydney Lett free throw that made it 65-25. In the final 30 seconds of the quarter, Quehl grabbed three offensive rebounds before finally laying it up and in to give the Lady Blues a 74-33 advantage going into the fourth.
The final 10 minutes were a chance for Illinois College to trot out some new lineups and see what worked.
Bailey Paskach took advantage of her nine minutes on the floor by making all three of her field goals and a pair of free throws as well for eight points.
Michaela Leapley had four points in seven minutes of action.
Sydney White and Darien Session also scored their first collegiate points in the quarter.
The Lady Blues shot nearly 50 percent from the floor on the night, while holding the Vikings to 24 percent shooting. IC also had a 55-31 advantage on the glass and forced 27 turnovers.
Illinois College will be back in action tomorrow against St. Norbert College here at Sherman Gymnasium beginning at 1 p.m.
