Box Score 2 The Illinois College baseball team split its final two games of the regular season at Cornell College on Saturday in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and will now await results of other Midwest Conference South Division games over the next week before learning its postseason fate. The Blueboys lost Saturday's opener, 8-3, before rallying for a 7-4 win in the nightcap.
Matthew Pardo tallied three hits for the Blueboys in the opener, but Cornell's five-run fifth inning staked the hosts to a comfortable lead.
Josh Krumwiede and
Nick Visconti had two hits each.
Matt Jagodzinski and Krumwiede drove in one run each.
Nick Duke took the loss, allowing seven runs (four earned) over the first five innings.
Dylan Sunderland allowed just one run over four innings of relief work.
T.J. Albers, Pardo and Visconti had two hits and two RBIs apiece in the second game as the Blueboys scored three runs in the sixth inning, two more in the seventh and two more in the eighth.
Jonathan Schrage had three hits.
Chris Irvin went the distance for the Blueboys, allowing four runs over nine innings.
The Blueboys finished the regular season at 19-16 overall and 8-8 in Midwest Conference South Division play.
