Box Score 2 The Illinois College baseball team scored a pair of key Midwest Conference South Division wins, sweeping a doubleheader at Knox College in Galesburg on Saturday. The Blueboys won by scores of 23-8 and 8-0.
Nick Visconti tied the Illinois College single-game record by collecting five hits, which included a home and a double, along with five RBIs and four runs scored.
Matthew Pardo had four hits, including two triples and a double, to go with four runs and four RBIs.
David Martin had and
Austin Peck had three hits and three RBIs apiece.
Nick Dalfonso and
Josh Krumwiede had three hits each, and
Dalton Kerans had a two-run home run.
T.J. Albers was the winner in the opener, allowing four runs over seven innings, while striking out five.
Krumwiede had a pair of hits, including a three-run home run, in the second game. He led the Blueboys' charge in the nightcap, with five RBIs. Peck had a solo home run and
Matt Jagodzinski drove in a run in the second game.
Austin Dormire scored three times.
Visconti was the winner in the second game, allowing just two hits and one walk, while striking out 12, in the shutout victory.
The Blueboys improved to 15-9 overall and 4-2 in league play. They host a doubleheader with Knox on Sunday at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School. The first game begins at 12 p.m.
