The Illinois College softball team lost its first two games at the Dot Richardson Spring Games in Clermont, Florida, on Monday. The Lady Blues suffered a 16-13 loss to Aurora University before a 9-1 loss to Augustana College on Monday night.
Alese Speckhart had three hits, two runs and two RBIs in the opener.
Abby Campbell had two hits and four RBIs, and
Brittany Fanella added two hits, one of which was a double, along with two runs and two RBIs.
Courtney Kwasnitza had two hits and
Kinzie Verhines scored three runs.
Speckhart started the game and allowed 10 runs over five innings.
Leah Shumaker suffered the loss after allowing six runs (two earned) over the final two innings.
The Lady Blues were limited to just four hits in the nightcap, two of which were collected by Kwasnitza.
Paige Meyer drove in the team's lone run.
Amanda Price took the pitching loss, allowing nine runs (six earned) over four innings.
The Lady Blues take on Marywood College and Trine University on Tuesday at the Dot Richardson Spring Games.
