The Illinois College women's outdoor track and field team was ranked No. 8 in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III preseason rankings released on Tuesday. The Illinois College men's outdoor track and field team was not ranked.
The Illinois College women's track and field team took second place at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships earlier this month. The second-place finish was made possible by three first-place finishes from senior
Missy Norville (long jump, high jump, 60-meter hurdles) and a seventh-place finish from senior
Megan Stringer (pentathlon).
The Illinois College men's and women's track and field teams kicked off the outdoor portion of their 2013 schedule last Saturday at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. Both IC track and field teams are back in action this Friday and Saturday at a meet at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
