The Illinois College baseball team split a doubleheader with Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Ft. Myers, Florida. The Blueboys lost the opener, 5-0, before bouncing back to win the nightcap, 2-1.
Brett Leischner and
Adam Hamerlinck each reached base twice in the opener; Leischner had a hit and a walk, while Hamerlinck walked twice.

Spencer Wilson and
Jonathan Schrage collected one hit apiece.
Nick Visconti took the pitching loss in the opener, allowing four earned runs over four innings of work while striking out six.
Matt Schneider allowed one run over one inning of relief while striking out three. Zack Hanlon struck out the side in one inning of scoreless relief.
The Blueboys didn't score until their final at bat in the second game. Ben Heinemann hit a two-out triple and scored on a passed ball. Josh Krumwiede then plated
Spencer Wilson with a two-out, pinch-hit double.
Nate Jones scattered six hits and allowed one run over seven innings of work in the second game. Jones fanned five and walked none.
The Blueboys, now 1-1, play a doubleheader with Dominican University on Sunday in Ft. Myers.
