Alicia Wood enters her fourth year as head coach of women's volleyball at Illinois College in 2023. Prior to IC, Wood worked as an assistant coach at DePauw University, helping guide the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament two seasons in a row, including a first-round victory in 2018.

In the 2022 season, the team made their second consecutive MWC Tournament appearance and had two All-Conference honorees. Jen Humbolt received First Team All-Conference and Paige Knuffman was named Second Team All-Conference.

In the 2021 Fall season, IC finished the regular season at 11-14 overall and 6-2 in the MWC. The team advanced to the MWC Tournament as the three seed and earned two All-Conference selections. Abbie Horstmann was named First Team and Jen Humbolt received Second Team All-Conference. The team suffered a five-set loss to Grinnell college in the MWC Semifinal match concluding the year at 11-15 overall.

In her first season with the Lady Blues during the shortened season caused by COVID-19, Wood led the team to a 5-4 overall record.

Wood began her college playing career at Bluffton University for two seasons before transferring to Ursuline College where she graduated in 2015. Before her time in college was over she had already started her coaching career, serving as a USA Junior Volleyball head coach for The Academy for Volleyball in Cleveland.

Her first college coaching role started in 2015 as an assistant coach at Cuyahoga Community College, where she helped the program to its best overall record in school history in 2016 and coached six all-conference selections over three seasons.

For the past two seasons, Wood has served as an assistant at DePauw. The Tigers made two NCAA Tournament appearances and won the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament to garner an automatic bid. She also trained two NCAC Players of the Year and a pair of American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Third Team All-Americans. DePauw earned the AVCA Team Academic Award in each of her two seasons with the program and one individual was honored as an Academic All-American.
