Blueboys Earn First Victory of the Season

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's soccer team posted its first win of the 2026 season with a 3-1 triumph over Westminster on Thursday at England Stadium.

IC improved to 1-0-1 while Westminster moved to 1-1-0.

The Blueboys struck first just 11:17 into the match when Adan Leon snuck a ball past the Blue Jay defense for IC's first goal of the season.

Westminster answered at 29:48, and the teams went into halftime tied at 1.

The second period was all IC. J'aiden Cranwell-Meneses gave the Blueboys the lead they would never relinquish when he tallied at the 40:10 mark. IC added an insurance goal at 60:46 when Jake Ruiz banged home a penalty shot.

IC was aggressive on the offensive end, out-shooting the Blue Jays, 18-3 on the night. Oscar Liogon Arenas and Cranwell-Meneses led the Blueboys with three shots each.

TJ Esseily had three saves on the net for the Blueboys.

The Blueboys will hit the road for the first time in 2026 as they travel to Principia on Saturday for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
