JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's soccer team dropped its Midwest Conference opener, falling to Lawrence, 3-1, on Saturday at England Stadium.

The Lady Blues are now 2-5-0 overall and 0-1-0 in MWC action. The Vikings remained unbeaten and are 5-0-3 and 1-0-0.

IC struck first in the match when Aliza Rodriguez slipped past the Viking defense and buried a shot into the right corner of the net. She was assisted on the goal by Katy Adler.

The Lady Blues were able to hold the lead for the remainder of the first half.

Lawrence came back in the final frame to tack on three goals and seal the victory.

Adler paced the IC attack with six of the team's nine shots on the day. Stella Gonzalez recorded seven saves in goal for IC.
