CARLINVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's soccer team posted a 4-2 victory over Blackburn on Sunday morning at Blackburn Stadium.

The Lady Blues improved to 2-3-0 while Blackburn fell to 1-3-1.

IC jumped out to a quick lead when Tegan Modjeski scored just 1:57 into the match. She was assisted by Sofia Russo on the goal, which was her second of the season, both coming this week.

After the Beavers tied the match at the 22:08 mark, the teams went into halftime deadlocked at one.

As it did the opening frame, the Lady Blues struck quickly in the second half as well. Aliza Rodriguez scored her first goal of the season just under three minutes into the period off an assist from Katy Adler.

 Adler then scored her third goal of the season at 62:09 to push IC in front 3-1. 

Blackburn added a goal at 65:36 before IC's Mandee Fischer closed out the scoring for the day with an unassisted goal at 79:20.

IC dominated the statistical chart, out-shooting the Beavers, 36-6. Adler led the way with seven shots while Rodriquez had six. Ella Smith and Modjeski each had four for the Lady Blues. 

Jesse Trost got the win in net for IC, recording two saves in the process.

IC will be on the road again on Wednesday when it travels to Illinois Wesleyan for a 7:00 p.m. contest in Bloomington.
