JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's soccer team opened the 2026 season by playing to a scoreless draw with Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday at steamy England Stadium.

The Blueboys had a balanced offensive attack, posting five shots from five different players on the night. Oscar Liogon Arenas, Kevin Cruz, Marcos Hernandez, Jake Ruiz, and Preston Seay-Stlouis all fired shots throughout the contest.

IC goalkeeper TJ Esseily stood tall in net throughout the night, recording three saves. IWU recorded 14 shots in the contest.

Blue Notes
This is the second consecutive year IC and IWU have played to a draw. The teams battled to a 1-1 draw in Bloomington last season.
