ST. LOUIS -- The Illinois College women's golf squad was picked to finish third in The St Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (SLIAC) annual preseason poll, the league announced today.
IC tallied 79 points in the poll after placing fourth at last season's championship. The Lady Blues will build their lineup around
Shelby Seiler. The senior carried an 84.5 scoring average last season, collecting one win. Leah Mills and Riley Ramsey are two freshmen who will compete in the IC lineup.
Grinnell is the overwhelming favorite in the poll. The Pioneers grabbed 100 points, including 10 first-place votes.
Mississippi University for Women was picked to finish 2nd, totaling 82 points in the voting.
Lyon was fourth in the poll with 69 points. Spalding was fifth, collecting 64 points, while Monmouth received 50 points, placing them sixth.
Rounding out the poll was Westminster in seventh with 40 points, Knox eighth with 39 points, and Blackburn ninth with 37 points.
Greenville, which competed partially last year, will be in its first full season of competition and finished with 27 points. Eureka tallied 18 points and is 11th.
