GRINNELL, Iowa – Illinois College's
Cambria Currie has been named the Midwest Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced today.
Currie, a sophomore from McLeansboro, Ill., won all three of her starts last week without allowing a run while giving up only three hits and recording 12 strikeouts. She opened the week with a two-hit shutout of Eureka, posting four strikeouts on Wednesday. She then had a one-hit shutout with five strikeouts against Knox on Saturday. She concluded the weekend on Sunday by authoring a no-hitter against Grinnell with four strikeouts in the contest that clinched the 2026 Midwest Conference regular season title for the Lady Blues.
IC will conclude the regular season portion of the 2026 season on Friday when it travels to Monmouth for a 3:00 p.m. MWC doubleheader before hosting the conference tournament on May 8-9.
