MADISON, Wis. – The Illinois College men's tennis team's
Andrus Dupre and
Grayson Dupre won consolation championships during the final day of the annual Midwest Conference Individual Tournament on Sunday at the Nielsen Tennis Center.
Andrus, playing at the No. 5 position, posted an 8-3 win over Chase Sims from Monmouth to claim his title. Grayson, Andrus' twin brother, played in the No. 6 flight and defeated Alfanso Mares from Monmouth, 8-2, to win the consolation championship of his flight.
In other singles play, IC's No. 1 player
Adi Basic dropped an 8-2 decision to Caleb Sipple of Ripon in his consolation final.
In doubles action, IC's No. 1 duo of Basic and
Jeff Wernsing fell, 8-4, to Ripon's Austin Stevens and Sipple in the championship of the consolation bracket.
