MADISON, Wis. – The Illinois College men's tennis team dropped its opening-round match to 19th-ranked Grinnell at the annual Midwest Conference Tournament on Friday at the Nielsen Tennis Center.
The Blueboys finished the season with a 13-10 overall dual record.

The top-seeded Pioneers, who have now won 203 consecutive matches against conference opponents, won the doubles point by taking two matches.
IC's No. 1 tandem of
Jeff Wernsing and
Adi Basic pushed Grinnell's top team before falling 6-2. At No. 2, the Blueboys'
Glenn Conway and
Dalton Short fell 6-0. The No. 3 match featuring
Andrus Dupre and
Tejas Zala was stopped with Grinnell leading 3-2.
In singles play, every IC player took at least two games in his match. Basic dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision at No. 1. Wernsing fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2, while Zala lost 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3.
Andrus Dupre fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5.
The two singles matches that didn't finish saw Conway trailing 6-2, 5-0 at No. 4 and
Grayson Dupre down 6-0, 5-2 at No. 6.
