MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Illinois College men's tennis squad rolled to a 6-1 victory over Monmouth for its first Midwest Conference dual victory of the season on Tuesday.
The Blueboys are now 10-8 overall and 1-3 in MWC action.

The Blueboys opened the match with three convincing victories in doubles to take an early 1-0 lead.
Jeff Wernsing and
Drake Bartos were 6-4 winners at No. 1. The No. 2 tandem of
Glenn Conway and
Dalton Short, and the No. 3 combination of
Tejas Zala and
Andrus Dupre were each 6-0 winners respectively.
IC continued to keep its proverbial foot on the gas in singles play as well, winning five of the six matches.
Zala won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 while Conway pitched a shutout at No. 3. Dupre was a 6-2, 6-2 victor at No. 4 with Short posting a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 5.
Ryne Breyer closed out the IC victory with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 6.

The Blueboys are back home on Saturday when they welcome Ripon (9:00 a.m.) and Lawrence (3:00 p.m.) to the Bellatti Tennis Complex for a pair of Midwest Conference dual matches.
