GRINNELL/MT. VERNON, Iowa – The Illinois College men's tennis squad dropped a pair of Midwest Conference duals on Saturday in Iowa.
IC is now 9-8 overall and 0-3 in MWC action.
Grinnell 7 IC 0
The 21st-ranked Pioneers jumped ahead in doubles and continued to push their advantage in singles play.
Grinnell captured all six singles matches in straight sets.
Andrus Dupre (No. 5) and
Grayson Dupre (No. 6) did win three games each in their respective matches.
Cornell 4 IC 3
The Rams came from behind in singles to post the tightly contested contest.
The Blueboys opened the match by winning the doubles point thanks to victories from
Glenn Conway and
Dalton Short at No. 2 and
Tejas Zala and
Andrus Dupre at No. 3.
Cornell rallied to win four of the six singles matches, three of which went to tiebreakers. IC got victories from Zala at No. 3 and Conway at No. 4.
