JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Illinois College delivered a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, cruising to an 87-48 victory over Lake Forest College in a Midwest Conference matchup at Sherman Gymnasium.
With the win, the Lady Blues improve to 9-12 overall and 5-7 in MWC play, while the Foresters fall to 2-20 on the season and 0-13 in conference action.
Illinois College set the tone early, jumping out to a 25-10 lead after the first quarter. The Lady Blues continued to control the tempo in the second period, outscoring Lake Forest 23-10 to take a commanding 48-20 advantage into halftime.
The momentum carried over into the third quarter as Illinois College maintained its pressure on both ends of the floor, extending the lead to 66-32 after three. The Lady Blues closed out the contest with a strong fourth quarter, scoring 21 points to secure the 87-48 victory.
Jayln Patterson led Illinois College with a game-high 19 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists. Kallie Oestreicher added 13 points, while Allison Icenogle provided a spark off the bench with 12 points on four three-pointers. Danielle Beach chipped in eight points and four steals, and Illinois College finished with 39 bench points in the win.
The Lady Blues shot 46.4 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from three-point range, while forcing 28 turnovers and converting them into 34 points.
