MONMOUTH, ILL – The Illinois College volleyball team takes down Monmouth in four sets in a Midwest Conference Showdown.
 
The Lady Blues now sit at 8-7 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
 
  IC 3, Monmouth 1 (25-18, 25-21, 12-25, 25-14)
The Lady Blues took an early lead in the first and never looked back; in the middle of the set, IC scored six straight points before Monmouth to extend the lead to 14-8. The Lady Blues finished their dominance in the first set with kills from Angelina Rogers and Delani Klass.
 
The second set was a back-and-forth battle. Just like in the first set, Lady Blues jumped out to an early lead, but Monmouth answered back, matching every point. IC pulled away late in the set after going on another run to close out the set.
 
Set three did not go the Lady Blues way as Monmouth jumped out to an early lead and kept it through the set.
 
The fourth and final set was like the first two, with IC being in control and dominating Monmouth and pulling away with the 11-point victory.
 
Delani Klaas continues to lead Lady Blues as she finished the night with 13 kills and 13 digs. Mady Salisbury pitched in with 14 digs of her own. Riley Drake also finished the night with 13 digs.
