LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Illinois College put together a strong road performance Wednesday night, pulling away in the second half to secure an 85–69 Midwest Conference victory over Lake Forest College at the Sports & Recreation Center.
With the win, the Lady Blues improve to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in Midwest Conference play, while the Foresters fall to 2-11 overall and 0-4 in league action.
Illinois College came out sharp from the opening tip, jumping out to a 26–12 lead after the first quarter. The Lady Blues maintained control through the second period, weathering a Lake Forest push to take a 42–33 advantage into halftime.
After halftime, Illinois College stayed in control, outscoring Lake Forest 19–16 in the third before closing the game with a 24-point fourth quarter. The Lady Blues shot 50 percent in the final period and forced timely turnovers to pull away.
Kallie Oestreicher led all scorers with 22 points, knocking down four three-pointers and adding five assists in a standout performance. Jayln Patterson finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, while Danielle Beach also contributed a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Cora DeSutter added nine points, and Raegen Stringer chipped in six points and six assists.
Illinois College finished with a 48–36 rebounding advantage, scored 36 points in the paint, and turned 22 Lake Forest turnovers into 19 points. The Lady Blues also received 24 points from the bench as 13 different players saw action in the road win.
