JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Illinois College was unable to keep pace with Ripon College on Saturday afternoon, falling 84–54 in a Midwest Conference matchup at Sherman Gymnasium.
The Lady Blues drop to 6-8 overall and 3-3 in conference play, while Ripon improves to 13-2 overall and remains unbeaten in Midwest Conference action at 6-0.
Illinois College battled early and kept the game within reach in the opening quarter, trailing just 14–10 after 10 minutes. Ripon gradually extended its advantage in the second period to take a 36–26 lead into halftime.
The Red Hawks took control after the break, outscoring Illinois College 28–16 in the third quarter to create separation. Ripon continued to apply pressure in the fourth, closing out the game with a 20–12 final period to secure the road victory.
Jayln Patterson led Illinois College with 12 points and nine rebounds, adding five blocks on the defensive end. Kallie Oestreicher finished with nine points, while McKenna Christiansen and Kylie Rakers each contributed six points off the bench.
