JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Illinois College delivered a dominant performance Saturday afternoon at Sherman Gymnasium, rolling past Beloit College 80–47 in a key Midwest Conference victory.
The win was a milestone moment for the Lady Blues, as Head Coach Jennifer McCormick recorded the 100th victory of her Illinois College coaching career.
The Lady Blues improve to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in Midwest Conference play while Beloit falls to 4-8 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Illinois College set the tone early and never looked back, building a 15–13 lead after the opening quarter before erupting in the second. The Lady Blues outscored Beloit 25–8 in the period, using strong defense and efficient scoring to take a commanding 40–21 advantage into halftime.
The momentum continued after the break as Illinois College delivered its best offensive quarter of the game. The Lady Blues shot nearly 62 percent from the field in the third, pouring in 29 points to extend the lead to 69–36 heading into the final frame.
Illinois College's defense limited Beloit to just 47 points for the game, forcing 33 turnovers and turning them into 27 points on the other end. The Lady Blues also held a 42–18 advantage in points in the paint and received 37 points from the bench.
Jayln Patterson led all scorers with 19 points while adding 10 rebounds for a double-double. Kallie Oestreicher finished with 13 points, while Kylie Rakers added seven points off the bench. De'Jah Yankaway and Anaya Patterson chipped in six points apiece as Illinois College showcased its depth with 12 different players scoring.
