JACKSONVILLE, Ill. –
Ty Lenhardt erupted for 33 points to power the Illinois College men's basketball team past Ripon, 66-63, in a Midwest Conference game on Saturday inside Sherman Gymnasium.
The Blueboys improved to 6-9 overall and an even 3-3 in conference play. The Red Hawks are now 2-13 and 2-4.
IC 66 Ripon 63
IC led the game from start to finish as Lenhart drilled a 3pt. field goal on the Blueboys' first possession. IC increased its lead to as much as 16 (35-19) with 1:29 remaining in the opening period before taking a 38-25 advantage into intermission.
In the second half, the Blueboys again got the lead up to 16 on two occasions, the last coming at 46-30 with 14:36 remaining. The Red Hawks made a late rally, and the final margin of victory was as close as they would get.
Lenhardt, who scored 20 of his 33 in the opening half, went 12-for-14 from the free throw line.
Seth Doss was the only other Blueboy in double figures as he scored 10 points.
Andrew Thomas had a team-high nine rebounds for IC while Doss added six and
Jaylen Swinney five.

Lenhardt is now averaging 23 points per contest in IC's six Midwest Conference games.
