WAUWATOSA, Wis.- The Illinois College volleyball team competed at the Wisconsin Lutheran Quadrangular on Friday, taking on Loras College in the afternoon before facing host Wisconsin Lutheran to end the night. The Lady Blues split the day, earning a five-set win over Loras before falling in four sets to the Warriors.
Match 1: IC 3 Loras 2
Illinois College battled through a back-and-forth contest to earn a thrilling 3–2 victory by scores of 22-25, 27-25, 24-26, 26-24, and 15-11.
Riley Drake powered the attack with 20 kills and 17 digs for a double-double. Laura Kaiser was dominant at the net, hitting .583 with 15 kills and five blocks. Summer Brandis set the tone with 33 assists, while libero Mady Salisbury collected a team-high 27 digs to lead the back row. Reagan Oster added three service aces as the Lady Blues finished with nine on the match.
Match 2: Wis. Lutheran 3 IC 1
IC came out strong to take the opening set 25-23, but the Warriors responded to win the next three frames 25-21, 25-20, and 25-18.
Alyssa Burglund led the Lady Blues with eight kills and five blocks, while Delani Klaas added seven kills. Haylie Orton contributed six kills in two sets of action, and Salisbury once again anchored the defense with 18 digs. Brandis and Kahli O'Neal combined for 28 assists, but IC was held to a .106 hitting percentage as Wisconsin Lutheran tallied 19 service aces.
