CHICAGO, Ill. – The Illinois College volleyball team earned a hard-fought 3–1 victory over Franklin College on Friday afternoon at the North Park Gymnasium. After dropping the opening set 25–16, the Lady Blues responded with three straight wins to seal the match.
The Lady Blues improve to 3-4 on the season while Franklin moves to 5-3.
Illinois College 3 Franklin 1 (16-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-22)
The Lady Blues tallied 41 kills on the day, led by
Riley Drake with a team-high 10.
Alyssa Burglund added 7 kills while hitting .222, and
Delani Klaas chipped in 8 kills with solid contributions at the net.
Summer Brandis directed the offense with 14 assists and 12 digs, while
Mady Salisbury finished with a team-leading 11 digs and two service aces.
The Lady Blues were tough at the service line, collecting 9 aces, including two each from Salisbury, Drake, and
Laura Kaiser. Defensively,
Caidyn Tate finished with five blocks as the team finished with seven total.
