JACKSONVILLE, Ill. –
Aliza Rodriguez scored late in the first half to send the Illinois College women's soccer squad to a 1-0 victory over Principia in the season opener for both teams on Friday at England Stadium.

Rodriquez, a sophomore from Northglenn, Colorado, scored the sixth goal of her career at the 33:32 mark of the first half for the only tally of the evening.

Stella Gonzalez posted a shutout in goal while recording one save.
The Lady Blues dominated the contest, outshooting Principia 33-2 on the night.
Olivia Ralston led IC with seven shots while
Abbi Renwick added six. Rodriguez recorded four to go with her goal.
