LINCOLN, Neb. – The Illinois College women's soccer squad jumped out to a four-goal lead and then held off a late rally to beat Nebraska Wesleyan, 5-4, on Sunday at Abel Stadium
The victory moved IC to 2-0 on the young season while the Prairie Wolves dropped to 0-2.

It was a match of scoring runs. NWU jumped on the board first at the 22:03 mark before the Lady Blues ripped off five unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead.
Olivia Ralston got IC on the board at the 25:27 mark off a feed from
Lexi Van Dyke and
Katy Adler. Adler then scored her first collegiate goal just over three minutes later to give IC a lead it would never relinquish.
After taking a 2-1 advantage into halftime, IC came out firing early in the second frame as
Aliza Rodriguez scored for the second time this season from an
Erin O'Connell assist at the 46:22 mark.
Nearly seven minutes later, Ralston found the back of the net for the second time on the day when she scored off another Adler assist.
Rodriquez put IC up 5-1 just under three minutes later as Adler added her third assist of the day.
The Prairie Wolves rallied with three goals in the late stages of the contest, but couldn't overcome the deficit.
Ralston and Adler led a balanced IC attack with three shots each.
Jesse Trost posted the win in goal while making her first collegiate start. She made eight saves on the day.

IC continues its road swing on Wednesday when it travels to Rock Island, Ill., to face Augustana. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
