EDINBURGH, Ind. – The Illinois College men's golf team sits in third place after the opening round of the SLIAC Men's Golf Championships at Timbergate Golf Course.
The Blueboys posted a team score of 298 (+10) on day one, led by
Myles Kampwerth, who fired an even-par 72 to finish the round in sixth place. Kampwerth carded five birdies in his opening 18.
Teddy Walbaum followed with a solid 74 (+2), placing him in 11th, while
Jarrett James and
Dylan Clark each turned in rounds of 76 (+4) to tie for 18th overall.
Mississippi University for Women leads the field after a standout performance, posting a 279 (-9). They hold a 14-shot lead over Lake Forest (+5), who sits in second.
