MIDDLETON, Wis. – The Illinois College men's tennis team's first trip to the Midwest Conference Tournament ended at the hands of perennial champion, Grinnell, on Friday at the Nielsen Tennis Center.
The Pioneers posted a 4-0 victory over the Blueboys in the opening round match.

The Pioneers won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to clinch the opening point. No. 3 doubles was stopped after the first two Grinnell victories.
The Pioneers were victorious in singles matches at No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6 to clinch the dual and advance to the finals.

This was the first appearance for the IC men's tennis program in the MWC final four… Grinnell has a 195-match winning streak against MWC foes, dating back to 2002-03, and has posted shutouts against 38 of its last 45 MWC opponents… the Pioneers have posted a first-round MWC tourney shutout nine years in a row.
