LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Illinois College softball team swept a twin bill from league-leading Lake Forest on Sunday at Mohr Field.

Game 1: IC 5 LF 0
As she did at Beloit on Saturday, Jordan Closs tossed another shoutout, this time allowing five hits and striking out six en route to improving to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in conference action.

The Lady Blues took control of the game in the second inning by scoring three runs. Raegan Rezba singled home Shelby Seiler, then Ezzy Mauermann stole home, and finally, Brooke Loveall drove home Rezba with a single.

IC added a pair of insurance runs in the fourth when Seiler, who led the Lady Blues offense with three hits, drove in Delaney Melton and then later stole home.

Game 2: IC 10 Lake Forest 4
The Lady Blues took control from the outset, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning and never looking back. The Foresters rallied with three in the third inning to cut the deficit to 4-3, but then took over.

IC plated six runs in the top of the sixth to put the game away and earn the sweep. The big blow of the inning was a three-run triple by Seiler. Kendall Cole and Elysia Hand also had RBI for the Lady Blues in the frame.

Cambria Currie pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief of starter Taylor Henry to earn the victory. Avery Fritz finished the final two innings.
