JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College softball team  was swept by Greenville, 4-3 and 8-5, in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday at Jessica Kamp Field.
The second game was called after six innings due to darkness.
The Lady Blues are now 7-7 overall while Greenville improved to a perfect 8-0.
Game 1: Greenville 4 IC 3
After Greenville opened the game with a run in the first inning, IC answered with a solo tally of its own when 
Kayla Serpa scored on a ground out by 
Shelby Seiler. The Panthers enjoyed a 4-1 lead before the Lady Blues made a push late, scoring single runs in the sixth and seventh but could get no closer.
Brooke Loveall had three of IC's seven hits in the contest. Seiler and 
Elysia Hand each had RBI.
Jordan Closs went the distance in the circle, pitching seven innings for IC, allowing five hits with nine strikeouts.
Game 2: Greenville 8 IC 5 (6 innings)
The Panthers roared out to a 7-0 lead after three innings but the Lady Blues began their comeback in the bottom of the third, scoring a run on a Hand sacrifice fly. After Greenville scored in the fourth to make it 8-1, IC put three runs on the board in the sixth on RBI from 
Ezzy Mauermann, Loveall, and 
Kendall Cole, who stroked a two-run double.
The contest was then called after the sixth inning due to darkness.
As she did in the first game, Loveall led the IC offense with three hits while Hand added two of her own.

IC will play its first true road games of the season on Sunday when it travels to Eureka for a doubleheader beginning at Noon.
