MONMOUTH, Ill. – Monmouth outlasted the Illinois College men's basketball team, 74-72, in overtime in a Midwest Conference game on Wednesday at Glennie Gymnasium.
The Blueboys are now 3-5 overall and 1-1 in conference action. Monmouth moved to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in MWC play.

The contest was tight throughout the night as it featured eight lead changes and eight ties.
IC moved ahead early in the contest and built its lead to 12 at 24-12 with 3:50 left in the opening half before the Scots used a 12-0 run over the final minutes of the frame to tie the contest at 24 as the teams went to halftime.
Like the first half, the Blueboys took a lead in the early stages of the second frame. IC led 60-49 with 3:35 to play in regulation before Monmouth scored 11 unanswered points to send the contest into overtime, tied at 61.
In the extra period, IC was able to carve out a 67-63 lead early, but a Scot three-point field goal with 39 seconds to play gave them a lead they would never relinquish.
The Blueboys were led by
Jayden McCoo and
Ty Lenhardt, who each scored 15 points. McCoo also handed out a team-high three assists.
Seth Doss grabbed nine rebounds for IC while
Nick Doroskin added six.

IC returns home on Saturday to host Grinnell in a Midwest Conference contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. inside Sherman Gymnasium.
