NAPERVILLE, Ill.- Illinois College fell on the road Tuesday evening, dropping a 90–73 decision to North Central at Gregory Arena in Naperville.
The Lady Blues move to 4-7 overall, while the Cardinals improve to 7-3 on the season.
North Central set the tone early, building a 31-18 lead after the first quarter. Illinois College responded in the second quarter, outscoring the Cardinals 23-17 to trim the deficit to 48-41 at halftime.
Momentum shifted back to the home team coming out of the break as North Central stretched the lead in the third quarter, holding IC to 13 points while pushing the margin to double digits. The Cardinals continued to control the pace in the fourth, closing out the win despite several late baskets from the Lady Blues.
Kallie Oestreicher led Illinois College with 16 points, knocking down two three-pointers, while Danielle Beach added 12 points and three assists. Addison Minor provided a strong performance off the bench with 10 points and eight rebounds, and Kylie Rakers chipped in eight points in limited minutes.
Illinois College shot 42.9 percent from the field and totaled 29 bench points, but North Central's balanced scoring and 10 made three-pointers proved to be the difference.
