JACKSONVILLE, Ill. –
Ty Lenhardt poured in 28 points to help the Illinois College men's basketball team post an 86-71 win over Knox in the Midwest Conference opener on Tuesday at Sherman Gymnasium.
The Blueboys improved to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in conference action. Knox is now 3-2 overall and 0-1 in MWC play.

The Blueboys took the lead at the 14:15 mark of the first half and never trailed again, growing their advantage to as much as 11 points on three occasions before going to halftime with a 38-28 lead.
The second half was all IC. The Blueboys pushed ahead to leads as big as 19 on multiple occasions, the final coming at 81-60 with 3:15 to play.
Lenhardt's game-high 28 points come on 9-for-12 shooting from the field, including a 6-for-8 performance from 3pt. range. He also drained all four of his free throws and dished out a game-high five assists.
IC's
DeShawn Nolan added 12 points and four assists while
Seth Doss and
Connor Brown both chipped in with 10 points.

The Blueboys have won 69 of the past 86 (69-17) games… IC has also won 39 of its previous 49 Midwest Conference regular-season contests… Lenhardt's six 3pt. field goals are tied for the eighth-best single-game total in school history… Lenhardt is averaging 27.3 points in his last three games (28-26-28).
