Blueboys and Beloit Play to a Draw

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – It was a tale of twos for the Illinois College men's soccer team as it battled to a 2-2 draw with Beloit in a Midwest Conference match on Tuesday at England Stadium.

IC is now 6-3-3 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play. Beloit moved to 6-5-3 and 3-0-1.

The Buccaneers controlled the scoring in the opening 45 minutes as Beloit's Rafael Cervantes found the net twice to give Beloit a 2-0 lead at halftime.

IC then controlled the scoring in the second frame as Tyler Lunning recorded a pair of goals, the final one coming off an assist from Jives Efemini with just under five minutes to play in the match.

The Blueboys were on the attack all through the night, outshooting Beloit 30-6. Lunning led the charge with seven, while Jacob Pelletier added six. 

IC's TJ Esseily went the distance in goal.

IC is 5-2-2 in its last eight matches. Over the past three seasons, the Blueboys are now 13-4-3 in Midwest Conference action.
