JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's soccer team got the season off to an impressive start, posting a 1-0 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan on Sunday at England Stadium.

The lone goal of the match came early as IC's 
Haley Sommer found the back of the net just 5:20 into the contest.
IC played stellar defense for the entire 90 minutes and sophomore goalkeeper 
Sophia Kriegesmann stood tall in net the entire contest, stopping all eight Prairie Wolves shots.
Freshman 
Holly Morehart led the Lady Blue offense with three shots. Sommer added a pair while 
Olivia Ralston, 
McKenzie Murray, and 
Abby Love each had one.
