JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The Illinois College athletic department's successful Fall semester was not limited to the playing field. The Blueboys and Lady Blues excelled in the classroom as well.
A total of 18 of IC's 23 teams achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The women's golf squad led the department with the highest GPA of the semester, boasting a 3.67. Rounding out the top five team GPAs was women's indoor track and field (3.48), men's tennis and women's indoor track and field (3.46), and women's outdoor track and field (3.44).
From an individual standpoint, 40 student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA for the semester and athletics had 177 student-athletes represented on the Dean's List.
