ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Seniors
Buzz Ritzel and
Josh Harris combined for 44 points to lead the Illinois College men's basketball team to a 70-60 win over Webster on Friday at Grant Gymnasium.
The contest was the season opener for both teams.

IC never trailed in the game and opened the contest strongly, leading by as much as 15 on three occasions, the last coming at the 5:32 mark when the Blueboys went up 31-16 on a jumper by
Nick Doroskin. The Gorlocks were able to whittle down the lead and IC took a 35-28 lead into intermission.
Webster came out of the break by cutting the lead to three at 38-35 with 15:55 to play but that was as close as it would get the remainder of the night as IC went on an 11-0, capped off by a Harris layup at 11:10 to lead by 15.
The Gorlocks would get as close as seven the rest of the way as the Blueboys closed out the contest to earn their first victory of the season.
Ritzel led all scorers with 26 points, including four 3pt. field goals, to go along with his six rebounds. Harris pumped in 18 points with a team-high eight rebounds while
Marcus Coleman dished out four assists for the victors.

IC has now won 33 of its last 38 games and 50 of the past 55.
