Men’s Soccer Falls to Lake Forest

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Lake Forest rallied from a 2-0 deficit to hand the Illinois College men's soccer team a 4-2 defeat in a Midwest Conference match on Saturday evening at England Stadium.

The loss snapped an eight-game unbeaten streak for the Blueboys and moved them to 11-4-1 overall and 5-1-0 in Midwest Conference play. Lake Forest improved to 6-7-3 and 5-0-1.

IC stormed out of the gates, scoring two goals in the first 6:45 of the contest. Tyler Schiltz put the Blueboys on the board at the 4:17 mark off of a feed from Tyler Lunning. Just over two minutes later, Jason Hernandez gave IC a 2-0 lead when he found the net at 6:45 but that was the end of the scoring for the Blueboys.

Lake Forest began its rally with two goals from Nathan Kostovestsky (19:56 and 27:11). The Foresters' Peter Cirbo gave them the lead at 34:02. He later added an insurance goal at 71:16 to close out the scoring.

Lake Forest out-shot the Blueboys, 10-6. IC was led by Schiltz who had four. Owen Macias recorded five saves in goal.
