MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Illinois College women's tennis team posted a key road victory in their quest to reach the conference tournament by beating Monmouth, 4-3, in a Midwest Conference match at the Monmouth Tennis Stadium on Wednesday.
The victory improved IC to 11-4 overall and 3-2 in MWC play. Monmouth dropped to 1-7 and 1-4.

The Lady Blues opened the match with a sweep of doubles action to take what would be a crucial point. IC got victories from
Sophie Muir and
Alyssa Wise at No. 1,
Michelle Maag and
Lily Ingram at No. 2, and
Chloe Plough and
Madison Eastin at No. 3.
The teams split the six singles matches, thus making the doubles point the difference. The Lady Blues had wins from Muir (No. 3),
Lily Ingram (No. 4), and
Sabrina Ingram (No. 6) to clinch the win.

IC returns home to entertain Lake Forest in the final Midwest Conference contest of the regular season. The first serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
