APPLETON, Wis. – Midwest Conference leader Lawrence held off Illinois College, 2-1, in a women's soccer match on Saturday at Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
The defeat dropped IC to 9-4-3 overall and 1-2-2 in conference play. Lawrence improved to 9-4-2 and 4-0-1.

The Vikings opened the scoring midway through the opening half when Ference Law scored at the 27:15 mark. Lawrence held that lead through the rest of the half and into the second before the Lady Blues tied it up when
Haley Sommer scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season.
Lawrence got the eventual game-winner at the 60:08 mark when Ava Elder scored on a penalty kick.
The Vikings out-shot IC, 22-7. The Lady Blues got four shots from Sommer and one each from
Holly Morehart,
Olivia Ralston, and
Aliza Rodriguez.
Sophia Kriegesmann had 12 saves in goal.
