JACKSONVILLE, Ill- The Illinois College volleyball team dropped the first match of the weekend to Grinnell College in a Midwest Conference match. This win moves Grinnell to 16-5 and drops Illinois College to 11-12.
Match Results: Grinnell 3 IC 1
After dropping the first two sets to the Pioneers, the Lady Blues came back to win the third set 25-23. Grinnell came back to win the fourth set 25-23 to win the match.
IC was held to a .122 hitting percentage on the night and the Pioneers finished with a .192 hitting percentage, and both teams ended the match with 44 errors each.
The Lady Blues had two players in double digit kills for the night including
Haylie Orton and
Laura Kaiser with 10 kills each.
Ligaya Garibay also added eight kills for IC as well as a team leading 17 digs in the match.
Summer Brandis and
Kahli O'Neal led IC with 40 of the 41 total assists for IC.
Reagan Oster ended with 13 digs on the night as
Nevaeh Gould and
Riley Drake added 12 as well.
