LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Illinois College had four players in double figures and used that balance to post a 79-64 victory over Lake Forest in a Midwest Conference men's basketball game on Sunday at the Sports and Recreation Center.
The victory moved the Blueboys to 15-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play. The Foresters fell to 3-13 and 1-6.
IC got 22 points and eight rebounds from
Buzz Ritzel while
Jake Mazrimas pumped in 20 points while also grabbing eight rebounds.
Austin Robinson, who started in the post for the Blueboys, contributed 11 points and seven rebounds.
Ty Lenhardt came off the bench to score 11 points as well.
Lake Forest opened the game with a 9-1 run in the first 2:32 before IC settled into a groove. The Blueboys answered with a 12-2 run of their own to take a 13-11 lead with 13:40 to go in the first half and never trailed from that point, taking a 36-27 lead into halftime.
The second half was all IC. The Blueboys saw their lead grow to as much as 20 (79-59) with 3:44 remaining in the contest.
IC will wrap-up its two-game conference road swing on Saturday when it travels to Beloit for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
